Volvo is the best

Liz on November 4, 2009 | Has owned a 2009 Volvo S60

I have owned my Volvo S60 for 2 years now and still love it as much as the day I bought it. Performance wise, it is the best car I have ever owned and I don't think I will ever buy anything else but a Volvo. It is dependable, comfortable and runs well. As far as maintaing it, I have had to have some work done on it in the past few years but nothing excessive. It is an expensive car to repair but most of the repairs were done when it was still under warranty. There was one issue with the gas tank when a screen got clogged and when I tried to fill the gas tank it spurted back out. That was not covered under warranty and it was an expensive $250 to fix. It is very comfortable to drive and gives a very smooth ride. I have never felt safer in a car. Air bags are in abundance. It also has a "head shield" airbag. Before buying this car, I was always nervous when it came to driving in the snow. My previous car was an Infiniti and it did horribly in bad weather. The Volvo has a winter driving feature that is remarkable, a "W" button. When it is used, it helps with traction. I no longer have any worries, it goes like a little tank in the snow. Even in the ice storms we had two years ago in my area, there was no problem driving. I love the peace of mind that comes with that. I am still discovering new things about the car it after two years. There are many amenities so I can't imagine anything more that the S80 has that the S60 doesn't. I like the fact that all of the seats fold down, even the front seats. The back seats fold down flat so there is more trunk room if needed. The body is still in very good condition and you cannot tell it is a 2001 because it is in very good shape and also the body design hasn't changed. The leather seats have stayed very nice too but I do take care of them. There is plenty of trunk room and leg room also. The heated seats are very nice in the winter and I also like the fact that you can adjust the temperature separately for the passenger and driver on both the heat and air conditioning. I have few complaints with the car but, as with everything in life, there are some. I do end up changing a lot of light bulbs. Luckily, the one's I have to replace the most are the cheaper one's on the car. I've only had to replace one halogen light bulb so far. I do have to replace the brake lights frequently but they are under $2 to buy. Also, the defroster on the front windshield doesn't work that well. When I did first buy it, I was surprised to find there were no floor mats in it. After I went out and bought some, I realized that there were floor mats in the car only they were made so well you have to look very hard to tell they are there. Overall, I am very happy and content with this car and would recommend a Volvo to anyone.
