First, I love this car and my wallet loves her too :-D Second, I am Italian, so I don’t know exactly what you like or dislike. But I think that this review is about what I like or dislike about this car, so let’s start the review. If you need a car to emulate Fast ’n’ Furious, you can stop reading now cause this car is for very calm people, with no need for speed . Are you still reading? Good, because this car is very amazing, for my experience obviously. I own my Yaris since January 2006, and I treat her very bad, despite that is solid like a rock, in almost four years, she have had only the standard annual maintenance, and obviously I regularly feed her with gas, in Italy the price for gasoline is a bit higher than other countries, so this aspect is important for me. The average consume of gasoline is about 6.7 liters every 100 Km, so I don’t think is a very expensive car about the fueling, my precedent car was an Alfa Romeo 145, that was very expensive. Maybe the exterior of the car is not very beautiful, but I like it, is solid, if you touch it don’t look like a can of coke. When I bought the car, it was the new model of Yaris, my in particularly is a version with all the “optional” you can imagine, except the gps navigator. The start/stop button with intelligent key, it works like this, you have your key in the pocket, when you put your hand in the handle of the door, the door simply open, because the handle have a sensor that read the presence of your hand and a sensor that read the presence of the key, you sit in, push the pedal of the friction (yes is a manual transmission car), push the start/stop button and you can go. It have a built-in radio with mp3-cd reader, six loudspeaker, two in front of you, two at your side on the bottom of the door, and two at your six at the bottom of the rear door, if you want the 5 door model. There is a navigation computer, that show you the external temperature, the autonomy of the vehicle, the instant consume and the average consume, the thing I don’t like about this nav-com is that the data are showed one at the time and only if you press a button, that is not easily reachable during drive, maybe a command on the steering gear it was useful, there are the commands of the radio, why not the nav-com command? On the security front, it have Abs, Ebd, Ba, Vsc and Trc, 7 airbag, and 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash test, but this are cold data that you can retrieve better on the producer site, that says nothing about the feeling of the car. Well, when I drive this car, I feel relaxed, the wide windscreen can make me see anything in front of me and my sides, the retro mirror is placed in a good position, and is not distracting you from driving, if you have kids, you can place easily the children safety seat with Isofix, or with the safety belt. If you have to transport many things, you can lower the retro seats and make a very large plain to load easily everything you need. In conclusion, for me is a great car, with low maintenance and fueling expense.
