We LOVE our truck!

This is the second Dodge Ram we have owned, and we love this truck. Our first was a 1998, and the only reason we traded up was we needed a truck with 4 doors for our growing family. Although the 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 is more of a work truck than a passenger vehicle, it has a smooth ride and easy suspension, which makes it a pleasure to drive. I am 6'6" tall and have had many problems finding a truck that was comfortable to drive and provided me with enough leg and headroom. Happily, the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 meets, and exceeds all my expectations. In fact, when we bought our truck, Chrysler had some nice rebates, and 1.99% financing, making our truck under $24,000 new. Other quad cab trucks have smaller beds, but the Dodge Ram couples a 6' bed with enough interior room to hold a family. Although other trucks may claim to get better gas mileage, we found that our Ram gets 15 city (well rural- we drive over many hills) and 21 highway. The Ram 1500 has an easy turn knob 4x4 switch which quickly changes from 2wd to 4x4, at any speed. When in 4wd, this truck motors through feet of snow with ease. With a little weight in the back of the truck, you should have no problems. In the base model, there are some nice interior features, including an outride temperature gauge, digital tire pressure monitor, and sensors that alert you when it is time to re-fill your washer fluid and change your oil! Another nice feature is that on the quad cab, the back doors open 90 degrees, making it really easy to get a baby capsule or toddler in the back seat. It also comes equipped with a hook up for an auxiliary input so you can hook up a MP3 or Ipod, and 4 power outlets (2 in the front, 2 in the back). The truck is also equipped with built in child seat clips, leaving the owner assured that their children are safe. The higher end models have even more features, including a built in compass, power sliding rear window, etc. If you are going to purchase this truck, I would recommend upgrading and getting some running boards. My wife had a hard time getting in and out at first, so the running boards made her life much easier. If you are looking for a comfortable work truck that is enjoyable to drive, we would highly recommend the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. We’ve taken it on 8+ hour drives cross country and found it comfortable the entire time. If you don’t intend on using this truck for work, and having the pickup simply for the look, I might suggest something like a Chevy or Nissan, which have seats that are a little more comfortable, but don’t have the same towing capacity, etc. But if you’re looking for a reliable, comfortable work truck that also accommodates a family, this trucks for you!
