The Tiburon really is a shark.

I bought a used 2000 Tiburon in late 2007 with 99,000 miles on it. The thing that initially attracted me to the car was the styling. I didn't know much about Hyundai and after test driving it several times and doing a lot of research online I decided to buy the car.
It is the best purchase I have ever made. The only major mechanical problems I have had with it were a result of hitting rather large raccoon. The battery died last year during the winter, and it was around 70 dollars to replace it. I did have a minor issue with the passenger side tail light not working, but it was resolved with a new wiring harness which cost all of 14 dollars.
I enjoy the style and performance of the vehicle. I don't go a single day without having someone compliment me on how good it looks. I like the interior as well, it's very dark and blends well.
Some of my dislikes include the tires for this beast. The tires are semi-low profile and have to be special ordered in my area, but the bright side is they only cost around 70 a piece, so it's not too expensive. The road noise between 55 and 65 mph requires a good stereo system. The other thing i disliked was the fact that the cup holders blocked the original car stereo's dials when in use, but this was remedied by replacing it with an after market model.
I would recommend this vehicle to a female between the ages of 16 and 22, it's a great single girl car, but wouldn't be roomy enough if you're toting around children.
Other cars to consider would be the Toyota Celica, or a new model Tiburon, or the new Genesis Coupe, depending on your price range.
My most memorable moment in this car was in an ice storm. It being a small and light sports car, I thought I would just go skidding across the ice, but was pleasantly suprised at how well it handles in any type of weather.
