2007 Dodge Caliber

I bought my 2007 Dodge Caliber in 2006 when they were first coming out, the first year it was made and I was excited. I almost got all the bells and whistles with the sport package which came with it, such as 6 CD player with mp3 capabilities as well as nice alloy wheel rims and red cloths seats. What I like about this car is that it is both hip but versatile. It is stylish enough for a young person because of the sporty look but has all the needs for a family because it fits a lot of gear. I like the fact that it has lighted cup holders which give it a glowing effect but also the glove compartment has a little cooler. The cooler never seems to get the drinks very cold and only works with the AC on, but serves ok as a water bottle holder. What is also great about the car is gas mileage I can practically go from San Francisco to Reno in one tank of gas, so that is a plus. What I didn’t like is that the trunk is a little small for a stroller but it is able to fit just a little snug. Another annoying thing I do not like about the car is that the black trimming around the top and doors of the car has slightly faded. I do not know if it’s because of the sun hitting it or too many car washes. The worst thing for me about the car is my breaks. After about a year of driving my car, my breaks squeaked like theirs no tomorrow I mean bad, so I replaced them and guess what the same thing happened about 6 months later so I am currently living with really really squeaky breaks no matter what the weather is outside. I would recommend this car to a small family or a student because it has just enough room for about four people and their belongings. The most memorable thing about the car is that the speaker system is great, if you like to hear music that rumbles your rear view mirror this car has it, just make sure you have the music gate, a nice pair of speakers that drops down off the trunk of your car. It also comes in handy when tail gating; just pull down the speakers and pump up your radio and you will be the hit of the party. Another item that came to mind is that if you get the 6 CD changer be aware that their will be the input jack taken away, so if you have an iPod you will have to settle for a wireless transmitter and to my experience they are not very good. I find this weird because they have a dock on the center console for an iPod. But all in all it is a good car, has not failed me the past three years and I am sure it is going to last me many more.
