A few years back I was shopping for a new car. My fiancé and I were looking to trade in my small Civic for something a little more practical for our long trips and times with friends. We test drove some trucks and I fell in love with the Titan. Although it was used, it was in pristine condition. Having driven small cars, I was apprehensive about driving a large truck. However, out of everything that I test drove, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Titan handled almost like a large car. The back up sensors also helped me navigate tight spaces. My fiancé always cracks jokes about women drivers, but even he admits that I have no problem handling the large truck.
We ended up with the LE edition with the Rockford Fosgate sound system. While it is better than the regular stock system, it isn’t fantastic, and if you value great sound, I would recommend that eventually you update your system. It would also be great to have some sort of pop up navigation device in the truck, as we tend to use it on our adventures exploring our state.
Overall, I am pleased with the comfort of the truck. The seats are very comfortable. My fiancé is 6’4” and has no problem relaxing in the driver’s seat of our truck. The backseat is ample for my friends as well as my 60 pound boxer.
Although I don’t have the 4WD version, I have taken this truck on some rough terrain with my quads. The Titan handled the roads with ease.
Overall I would recommend this truck to someone who is looking for an SUV type of interior with the practicality of a truck. This truck is definitely meant for more of a family type buyer rather than a commercial contractor or something along those lines. While the bed is spacious, it is shorter than it’s competitors. I realize that if you were someone who needed to move large objects frequently, this may not be the truck for you. But we have not had any problem making numerous moves with this truck. The rails that run down the bed of the truck really help you secure oddly shaped items with ease. We have traveled hundreds of miles with large items in the bed of our truck without worrying about anything coming loose or flying out. We have also had some problems with not being informed about recalls, however, I would assume that this is more of a Nissan Corporation problem.
I have few complaints about the truck. I realize that it isn’t a huge beast of a truck like the newer Tundras, but we weren’t really looking for that. We were looking for a powerful truck with nice features but still practical for people who would use this as an everyday commuter car.
I think that most people would be really happy with this truck. It has enough features and options to be practical in everyday life, but it’s still a truck that looks great with some mud splashed along the side. I would recommend this truck to my friends, and I hope that many Titan owners out there share my love for this vehichle!
