Not even worth considering

Nicole on September 8, 2009 | Has owned a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

I have owned this car since 2005 and have had intermittent turn signals up until today when after fighting with gm they FINALLY fixed it. It's not considered a defect but I guess I eventually got to the right person. I have had my catalytic converter go, had to replace the fuel filter way too often, the car shakes when I hit my brakes over 45 mph and it does not have the power of a v6. The dash also gets very hot when I use my fog lights. (none of this covered via warranty btw). My rear defrosters have also already detached from the back window. Also- the 2002's are known to "forget" their own security code that is used to identify the key. This happened to me and my car would not turn over, I had to pay to have it towed to a dealership for them to reprogram it. Now, this sounds like maybe I'm not a person who knows how to take care of a car or has abused it but this isn't true. I have kept regular maintenance on the car and was brought up in a family that is quite car suave. We have all maintained this car and still had all of the above issues occur. (if you do your research online you'll see many others with similar issues).

The only plus is the back seats are comfortable and there is a good amount of trunk space.
