I got this car in 2007 brand new. I received a pretty good deal and paid $22,000 for one that comes with a sun roof and a 6-CD changer. I really love this car! Not only that it looks awesome, it also drives likewise. First of all, the car is very roomy (73 cubic of cargo room ) -- you can fold all of the seats to create more rooms if needed. Want extra room? No problem. You can use the roof-rack to store some extra items. The gas mileage is not too bad. At 21/24 MPG, it is actually pretty good for its class. The displays inside the car are mostly digital and they are very easy to adjust. The driver seat sits pretty high which enables you to see the road better. I've driven this car to Florida - Ohio back and forth three times and have not experienced any problems.
The price of the vehicle does not drop fast, another thing I value for any Toyota’s car. However, I would say that it is better to buy the vehicle slightly used as you can get a better deal. My Rav4 is a front-wheel drive, an all-wheel drive option is also available if you want to add extra money.
I guess the only thing I do not like for the Rav4 is the backdoor that opens sideway. It is a little bit heavier to move and sometimes it is a hassle. I guess it would be better if the door opens up as with any major SUVs. The other thing that I don’t like is when you’re driving on the highway and the wind blows pretty strong, you can really feel that the vehicle is pulling. You shouldn’t be able to feel this pulling motion with any SUVs, but for me it is not a big deal as I mostly drive in town.
I love my car and I would strongly recommend it to others. Yes, I don’t like some aspects of the vehicle, but the good outweighs the bad. I did not regret spending $22,000 on this car. It is a good looking vehicle and yet very reliable.
