I did not want to buy a truck. For years, my husband has been pushing for a full-sized pickup truck, and has sworn they are comfortable and easy to drive. I never considered myself a truck person before, but when I drove the F-150, I was converted. While it is much larger than I am accustomed to driving, it is still rather easy to maneuver, and extremely comfortable to ride in, as well as to drive. It is an XLT, 4-door model, and can comfortably seat six passengers with some room to spare. The storage and towing ability, in my eyes, is unparalleled, and the reliability cannot be undermined. There are a few disadvantages to owning a full-sized pickup. Even with a smaller engine, it still takes a lot of gas to drive this truck. On average, it costs between 50 and 60 dollars to fill the tank, and you get approximately 400 miles to the tank. It also sits up very high, so my father-in-law, who has severe arthritis in his back and hips, has a very difficult time getting in and out of the vehicle. It is also difficult, as a woman wearing a skirt and heels, to get in and out of the truck without showing my assets to the world around me. Of course, there are many more benefits to owning this vehicle. It is extremely reliable. I don't have to worry about engine problems with this vehicle because of the great warranty Ford offers buyers. It is under warranty for the next six years, so any issues that may arise will be covered by the factory warranty. Living in Colorado, it is also important that a vehicle be able to hold the road in the harsh winters. This truck doesn't dissapoint when it comes to traction and safety. It has also been invaluable in taking my whole family into the mountains for summertime camping trips. The bed and inside of the cab offers superior room for packing any and all gear we could fathom bringing, as well as our two dogs in their cage. It has been worth its weight in gold as far as recreation for our family. I strongly recommend the F-150 to anybody in the market to purchase a new vehicle. It rides with the comfort of a luxury car or SUV, but with the storage and towing capabilities of a regular truck. The cab is roomy enough for an entire family, and offers great stability and reliability.
