I purchased this vehicle new and I absolutely love it! This is the fourth vehicle I've driven and it is most definitely my favorite. This is the first vehicle I have purchased about which I have no buyer’s remorse because I have not had a single problem with the Outlander. This small SUV corners nicely and hugs the road. Along the highway, freeway, or any road it's a very smooth riding vehicle, easy to control, and for an SUV it actually gets good gas mileage. On the highway I can get anywhere from 25-32mpg, depending on speed and traffic. This vehicle is also fairly quiet when driving on the freeway. The brakes and gas are good, not too touchy. It's not a supremely powerful vehicle, but it accelerates nicely which is very useful in getting on the freeway. The interior has clean lines, and very good storage in the dash, both in the center and above the normal glove box. The built in phone capabilities if the steering wheel are a plus. The music and cruise control is located on the steering wheel are also nice for while driving in traffic, eliminating the need to take your hands off of the wheel. The only downside I can find is that it doesn't have power seats, but to me that isn't a huge problem. Some have said the exterior design is "a grandma car" while others, including myself, disagree. Apparently it depends on the eye of the beholder! The rear hatch has a really neat feature. Not only does the hatch open upwards, but there is also a part that opens downward like a tailgate which is very convenient for loading and unloading- not to mention for tailgating and camping trips. The storage capabilities of the vehicle are nice, the back seats fold down and lift up to allow more space in the back of the vehicle. The floor of the back stores the spare. One of my only qualms is that changing the tire can be a bit difficult. The jack is a little different, not as easy to use. I had help when I changed mine after a black ice-related accident. However, the vehicle does travel well in the snow and the ease in which you can convert to four wheel drive is incredibly helpful. A simple switch right near the dash is all it takes. The lights are automatic, but will need to be switched on for night driving. One other issue is if you are traveling often with passengers in the back is that there are no heater or air conditioner vents in the back, only in the front so it can be a bit toasty or cold for those sitting in the backseat. Lastly, the cupholders, they are numerous. So for those who worry about that this car will not let you down! There are five in the front seating area and at least two in the back. The center compartment is neatly divided into two sections, one deeper and one slimmer and the top portion contains the Kleenex holder which I find really handy. Overall, this vehicle is a gem and I highly recommend it.

This is a great car for a college student or someone with a small family who needs the space or all wheel drive but does not want a huge SUV or a gas guzzler. It can travel almost anywhere you need it to.
