So far, So good!!

I must admit that when I first started looking for car, a Mustang wasn’t on my list. It just so happened that one of the first lots I went to had my burgundy Mustang, something they claimed was rare, and I believed them since there were slim pickings otherwise! Needless to say I’ve been the proud owner of that car for nearly two years and haven’t had many problems at all with it. I feel justified in bragging because I’ve been in a long distance relationship for about 7-8 months now, and my ‘Stang has faithfully transported me to my love about 15 times now… Round trip the mileage is between 600-700 miles! The only maintenance needed was a fuel pump replacement, and some minor welding to the exhaust manifold. At about 120,000 miles on the odometer, and with Ford’s notorious “Fix-Or-Repair-Daily” spoof acronym, I’d expect my car to have a few more problems, but it runs great and is very reliable. I’m told I look pretty hot driving it too, which doesn’t hurt! Also, for the price I paid, which was around 10 grand, I constantly feel as if I got a great deal on this car. It’s now 10 years old but looks and runs just fine. I have the normal model, I should add, not the GT, which I can assume would excel in the performance area. I’ve never really tried pushing the limits with my Mustang, although I’ve topped it out at about 110 MPH, but I don’t try to accelerate quickly or race anyone. My story would probably be a lot different if I had the GT, or had performance upgrades! That being said, I think this would be a fun car to upgrade and invest money into, and I plan on doing so in the future. I would honestly recommend this car for people in their 20’s, or late teen years. It’s a fun, youthful sports car, so if you are going through a mid-life crisis, I’d suggest something a bit more upscale. Since I am a female, I tend to think this is more of a female car, but my opinion on that changes when I see a nice Mustang “tricked out”. I would love to put some nicer tires and rims on, and definitely turn the fake hood scoop into a real intake… That’s one gripe I have with the Mustang is that the hood scoop is fake. It looks cool but it’s kind of stupid, in my opinion. Also, I would definitely not recommend leather seats (in general) to anyone in Florida. It’s quite a gross feeling when your legs stick to the leather and sweat all over the place. The Mustang is pretty standard for a V6 sports car when it comes to fuel efficiency. I can’t complain too much – it could be worse and it could always be better. All in all, I think this car fits me perfectly when it comes to demographics: a burgundy stock room Mustang for a 23 year old female Floridian. Sounds pretty cliché, but I’m happy, and I’m sure plenty others would be happy investing in a used car such as this!
