I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my VW Jetta. I purchased it back in 2004. It was slightly used with only 6,000 miles on it. I got an excellent deal on it because it wasn't considered "brand new".
When I was shopping around for cars the VW caught my eye right away. The body style is a classic look that is stylish, but sporty in it's own way. I had to definitely test drive a black one I saw. It's the car I still have today.
It has the warm weather features such as the seat warmers and very nice looking black leather seats. That sure does come in handy during those chilly winter months. They work great! The seats can be easily wiped down after a trip to the beach or if you spill something for a simple clean-up process.
If you enjoy a great sound system with the sun in your hair, this car features a 10 speaker sound system and a moonroof that opens at all different angles. It makes it very nice to be able to ventilate the car with the moonroof during the hot summer months. The speakers have such a crisp and clear sound there was no reason to replace the factory ones that came with it.
A little over two years ago I was sitting at a stop sign and was rear ended by a woman chatting on her cell phone. She was going about 45 miles an hour and didn't see me. She hit me without braking. I thought for sure the car would be totaled. It bent up the trunk and broke the back tail light on the side as well as cracked out the back windsheild. The wonderful thing is the car was sturdy enough to keep me safe, if I had been in another brand of vehicle it would have been a lot worse. The Jetta was towed to a collision center and was fixed in about a week. The frame wasn't bent and it looks as good as new. I couldn't believe that it had survived that.
The car has transported my friends and I to concerts out of town. It has also gotten me from California to Texas when I moved. I have relied on it so much, I don't know what I would do without my Jetta and the good times it has allowed me to have.
Needless to say its been a fabulous mode of transportation. I feel like it's nice looking enough to still drive, it doesn't feel outdated at all as the newer models come out. Virtually maintenance free, the most work I have ever had done on the car is it's regular oil change and just general car care. I cant remember the last time I had to take it to the dealer to have any work done. I think one tip the brake sensor went out and it only costed $30 to replace. I was afraid something else went out in the car, but that wasn't the case at all. The mechanics at the VW dealer were very helpful and they weren't sneaky like others I have encountered when I had a Honda. They wanted to stick it to me for every little thing. Luckily I was well taken care of, which left a great impression.
It now has over 100,000 miles on it and I am definitely not anxious to let go of the car any time soon. If I had an opportunity to purchase another VW Jetta I definitely would. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to someone who wants something in a middle price range, and a car that is reliable. It's definitely not a cheaply made car at all.
My best friend took my advice and invested in a 2008 Jetta. It's the Wolfsberg edition. She loves it and thanks me based on my suggestion.
