Good car

I have driven the VW Passat quite a few times. the 2 liter engine is not a strong performer in particular, but it does haul the car with relative ease, and returns a pretty sensible 23 mpg. That is a bit conservative however, because the figure can drop if you put your foot down. In terms of handling, it brings German sports-sedan road manners to the mid-size sedan class. It is a bit outclassed by other German makers, such as BMW or Audi, but it still a good car to drive. The interior is also spacious, and quite comfortable, even on longer journeys. The quality of the materials used is very good, and the car has a feel of solidity and endurance that is characteristic of the German car maker. A bit of a letdown is the styling though. The looks are not that great, and the car has been around for quite some time now. The recently launched Passat CC is a much better looking car, and comes with the same pedigree of solidity and quality as the regular Passat. The most important thing though is this car's reliability. I've driven one as a company car, for more than 10.000 miles, and absolutely nothing went wrong. When i got the car, it had already done 30.000 miles, which is not a lot, but if the car would be poorly built, by this time, signs of poor quality should show up. However, that was not the case, and i enjoyed every day with the Passat. It is definitely a very good car. Not particularly good-looking, but still a very good car.
