My 2002 Saturn Vue has been a wonderful SUV for my family and me. I currently have two kids with one on the way so sadly I have to trade in for a mini van. This has really been a tough decision for me but I just don’t think that the backseat will accommodate all three of our car seats; therefore the car has to go. I have loved the room that has offered to us as a family of four though. There is enough legroom for everyone. By far my favorite feature has been that the trunk includes grocery dividers that hide away. This is great because at one of the local grocery stores they don’t have bags so this prevents huge messes in the trunk it is so nice and organized. The mechanical issues that I have had with this car is that we have replaced a wheel barring, a drive shaft center bearing, and intake butterfly springs. I do not know how much these would have cost to repair at a shop because my husband is a mechanic. I do know that the parts only cost us a couple hundred dollars and were totally worth it to be able to continue to use the car. I would completely recommend buying this car to anyone. If you’d like to buy a used one, I just happen to have one for sale, lol. In all seriousness though this has been an excellent car. Mine has low miles on it because I stay at home, but it has lots of extras and things to offer. I love that I can go get groceries with it or fold down all my seats and throw some 2x4’s in the back. Another great thing about this vehicle is that it is all wheel drive, so it was great for this New York winter weather. We have had so many great memories in this car as a family. We brought are second child home from the hospital in this car. I think our favorite memory would be driving to Florida with an infant and a recently potty trained two year old. You can only imagine how many times that poor Vue had to stop at the restroom. The drive from New York to Florida has never seemed so long! We have driven it to so many picnics, zoo outings, taken the dog to the pond, just gone for a drive. It’s a wonderful vehicle and if there is any doubt or debate in your mind as to weather or not you should purchase it … you should go for it so that your family can share in all the great experiences that my family has had! I wish that there would be enough room in this car for all five of us to fit, but the car seats are just too wide. Trust me though once all my kids have outgrown their car seats I will definitely be in the market to purchase another Saturn Vue.
