I must say that driving a Corolla gives me a good feeling. I had never driven a Toyota before until last year and I must say I'm a fan for life. The Corolla handles extremely well, the pick up is great. I've rented other small four door sedans and it's just not the same. Highway driving is pleasant but the ride isn't the smoothest if the road needs repair. You can feel every little bump. On a windy day--- hold on! I find the Corolla to be really light.
When I first started driving the Corolla I thought this car isn't that small and I felt really comfortable behind the wheel. The backseats are roomy too and great for all my handbags. Parking is so easy in this. I'm used to driving and parking larger cars, so to park this Corolla in smaller parking spots with enough room to still get out of the car works for me. It beats circling the lot 5 times!
One of my "things" that I must be comfortable with in a car is the size of the rear window. The Corolla's headrests limited my vision just a little bit so I took them out. They are super easy to remove and put back when another passenger needs it.
Another feature I like in the Corolla is there is additional space above the glove box to put whatever your heart desires. My cds fit perfect in there when the console is full. My MP3 player, GPS, body spray, juice.. I'm a fan of extra storage. There is lots of room for beverages, either in cupholders at the sides on the front and passenger door panels, the console or at the back of the console for passengers riding in the rear.
When it comes to gas in this car.... two thumbs up. I've done a few 4 hour trips east of Toronto, Ontario and all it used was three quarters of a tank. What's also really neat about the Corolla is the multi- function information display on the instrument panel. By pressing the button at you can see what the temperature is outside, fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, your driving range based on the fuel in the tank, the speed you are driving and the elapsed time since the engine was started.
A sporty car with lots of great features. No complaints here.
