The 2009 F-150 4x4 Crew Cab Lariat: I'm not a fan. I prefer a bare-bones Tundra…Tacoma…or walking. Apart from the price (closer to $60,000 here in Canada, without discounting the $8000 of incentives on right now), the plastic wood and plastic metal interior gives me a strong desire for knock-off sunglasses.
It's a hint that nothing inside is actually real. The leather is thinner than Paris Hilton, the "Sound System by Sony" is tinnier than an 80s boom box, and the "stitching" on the instrument binnacle resembles Frankenstein's forehead.
I'm not a truck guy, admittedly. But if all the capability of the F-150 can be had for under $30-large, why spend nearly twice as much for all of the crappy, cheap trim inside? It drives well, gets good economy, and the ride is wonderful. And clever touches like the integrated rear step make living with a truck that much easier.
It's like when you stay at the Venetian in Las Vegas: technically, the hotel is very nice…but it's garnished with thousands of tonnes of fake canals, fake skylines, fake gold trim, and fake plaster.
The Lariat is the same. Ford, you have no idea what luxury means, but you make a damn good work truck. Stick to what you know, and leave the wood and leather simulations to the aftermarket.

You, my little russian dwarf, know nothing about the truck market, nor it's core buyers. The 2009 F-150 is the best-riding of any truck on the road, the Lariat now has standard heated/cooled seats, side seat and side canopy airbags, the new tailgate step option, side bed step option, the Sony stereo is a good stereo in it's price range, and on and on. You nitpick the dash styling as though it's the sole important thing in a truck, but you don't know !@ about what's underneath...that's where the Ford is head and shoulders above the import trucks, which bring CHEAP dash trim to an 80's look and feel. Too bad you didn't invest that kind of style point system into your wardrobe. You need to stick to interior decorating and leave the truck business to real men.

I have to agree with Banovsky. I have an F350 Lariat SuperCab, and the interior is simply plastic with cheap wood and chrome veener.

Add another vehicle to compare side-by-side
