2003 Hummer H2

Now the boxy Hummer H2 is advertised as being a rough and ready vehicle, but it is not the same Hummer that the military uses. Yes, it may be styled after those rough and ready APVs but these over-priced, beautified boxes cannot keep the pace. People need to understand this. They CANNOT go off any road, CANNOT get out of deep mud, marshy ground, or go over rocks like a rock crawler. You will need to be pulled out and towed. Axles will break, paint will scratch and chip, dents will appear and windows will crack. I have seen, pulled out, towed and fixed all too many of these vehicles due to people expecting too much. Now, there are good and bad points to this SUV. Pros are: it has all the bells and whistles (not that they always work), the ride is smooth, the seats are comfortable and there is plenty of legroom in all seating areas. The H2 is dependable if you use it as you would a car for normal around town driving and maybe a few rough roads and bad weather. Cons: Plenty of recalls, cheap interior (plastic breaks easily), bad fuel usage (11-14 MPG), it’s slow to build up speed, and it can easily get stuck. Up keep for the Hummer H2 is average and will range between $60-$200 depending on if you do the work yourself or take it in to a dealer. But be careful, as Hummer will void out some warranties if the work is not done by one of their own or authorized mechanics, so read your fine print.
