Pricey SUV

The Envoy is GMC's SUV. It is listed in the higher end models and the Denali version is very nice with it's leather seats. The body is basic SUV with a few little rounded areas for definition. The interior has some pieces that are cheaply made, though the rest is airy and comfortable.
There seems to be a plague of problems with the suspension, engine cooling systems and electrical systems. We have found several Envoys on the side of the road, and trying to find the problem isn't always easy (service bulletins are never much help seeing as some years have over 300 postings). I have seen the shocks lose all air pressure, the engines over heating and troubles with the transmissions specifically shifting into 3rd and 4th gears. Check out the engine as well for leaks before you purchase a used Envoy.
Parts for the GMC Envoy for even simple oil changes and tune-ups will run you up to $160+ and the fuel usage is only around 15-19 MPG. A lot of work will most likely be needed to fix recalls and the faulty electrical system. The sticker prices are high…more then I would pay.
