Quite possibly the worst vehicle on sale in the US

I drove this vehicle for two weeks. The only high points were the comfortable seats and the MP3-CD capable CD player. Everything else was bad.
The ride is both nervous and numb at the same time. Steering feel is absent, making handling unsecure. The 1.6L engine is reluctant and anemic, but manages to be particularly thirsty - I averaged 23 MPG in mixed driving. The automatic transmission downshifts at the wrong time.
This car was a rental, and had 3000 miles on it. When I tried to start it once, one of the cylinders was not firing, and the CHECK ENGINE light lit up. It was towed back to the rental shop.
It you are thinking about buying one, please don't. Buy a Honda Fit. Buy a used Toyota Camry. Avoid at all costs.

I would have to diasgree with the above review. I own a 2008 Kia Rio and so far, have had no problems with it. The car travels 80 miles a day with me for my commute and averages about 36 mpg. The only bad thing about the car is the check engine light comes on occasionally usually resets itself. Haven't had time to get it to the dealer but I haven't really had a problem either except for the annoying little light. The car is very easy to drive and is comfortable for a car its size. The stereo could have a little more oomph to it and I do miss the power options that are standard on most cars, but at the low low sticker price, you can't go wrong.
