The Honda Accord is a small sedan with big plans that it just can't meet. It’s made for urban and suburban small families, and for basic commuting, will get you around adequately.

The exterior styling of this car is pretty simple, with nothing special that stands out. The nose has some style to it and is really the only thing that makes it look different from say the Tempo of the time. Lame basic color choices for both the interior and exterior, as well as a lack of interesting options for this vehicle makes it rather plain. The interior dash is simple and functional, but there isn’t enough elbow room, cup holders, or storage in the vehicle.

The seats are uncomfortable to say the least. They adjust to strange positions and there isn't enough legroom for someone on the taller side (6 ft and up). The seat material wears thin and the dash of many Accords I’ve seen recently have begun to crack. The back seat is ok for kids and maybe even two car seats but adults will not find it roomy enough and the seat is very uncomfortable.

This car has an awful amount of issues with its ride, performance and reliability. There are just too many to list, but they almost all stem from well-known issues with the suspension, engine cooling system, power train/transmission, electrical system and brakes. Things to look out for are floating on the road, random clicks, clacks, humming, grinding, thunks, and leaks on, under or around the engine. The electrical systems have had many, many recalls. Also, be warned that the AUDIO UNIT AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM ANTI-THEFT CODES ARE AVAILABLE ON INTERACTIVE NETWORK SITES, which potential thieves can use to stop alarms and tracking.

Now minus getting all of the above looked at and fixed, parts are moderately prices as long as you don't get into the performance after market items, and will range in the $50-$80 range. Working under the hood can be a little difficult because everything is tightly packed in there. The local garage or dealership will tack on at least another $80-$100 to the cost. These should be done routinely every 12000-15000 miles for best outcome. Gas mileage is good and ranges from 22-26 MPG, with some better and some worse, depending on the previous care of the vehicle.

I have to say this car has not thrilled me. Hitting my knees on the dash the first time getting in should have been an indicator of what was to come. This car is ok to get you from here to there but that's as far as I would say for it.
