I presently drive a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE. I bought it used in 2006 with 32,000 miles. To date, I have had no major problems with this car at all (and I’m over 70k miles)! I have consistently gotten it serviced at the 4,000 mile mark, and had the transmission fluid changed once. I like the style of the body of the car- I felt when this particular model was sleek when it was first introduced to the market. Also, I have a tendency to "bump" things, and the Corolla doesn't even dent it feels like!! The inside is the perfect size for me. However, my boyfriend is tall (about 6’2”) and while he fits in the car, it becomes uncomfortable for him after driving for awhile. The radio, CD player, and speakers are all stock and come with the base model. All work like a charm! It also has a dial so you can scan through the radio stations to find the one you want, rather than waiting for the scan to cycle through. The only thing I don’t like about this car really is the handling. Before my Corolla, I had a VW, so I’m used to fast peppy cars with good handling and hugs the curves. The Corolla just doesn’t have the turn radius or pep or acceleration I would like it to… The gas mileage is SO great, now that prices are waaay up, but it does have a small tank. So be prepared for frequent fill-ups if you’re driving a long distance (although, I drove from NH to South Carolina and back, sat in NY traffic, and only filled up 5 or 6 times!) My car came with remote-entry locks as well, with actually does not usually come in the CE. My suggestion: if you're looking for a good dependable car to get you from point a to point b with good gas mileage, a Corolla may be it! If you want something with a little more torque or pep, you may be better off with something sportier.
