1999 Cadillac Eldorado

Though Cadillac did away with the Eldorado the last being made in 2002 it is still one of my favorite Cadillacs. This 2 door coupe has the most comfortable ride, and is sorely missed.

As with all cars there are parts that go and will need to be replaced. In the Eldorado it's the hoses, gaskets, and pretty much anything made with rubber. Some of these parts were recalled, many were not. So remember to check under the hood for cracking in the hoses, leaks and such. The other problem is that the northstar engine is a piece of work that no mechanic wants to touch, because it is over engineered. That being said, it will cost you to have it worked on, though if it's been taken care of the work won't be needed.

Keeping up with the general maintenance on any Cadillac is very important. It should be done every 3-4 months (the heavier the driving the lower the months) and isn't very expensive, $50-$90 a shot for oil and tune up. Well worth the cost seeing as if done on schedule this car will easily get 28-33 MPG on the highway 18-22 in town. Remember also that if you do not keep up with the oil changes the system will begin to knock, tick and eat oil, which will lead to more problems in the engine.

The ride is smooth, barely even feel bumps such as railroad tracks or gravel roads. The Eldorado's power is impressive especially since it doesn't eat gas the way a sports car would, and for a sportier car, it handles amazing well in the snow and wet weather. The style screams Cadillac, the classic look of luxury, with pearl, and other rich paints, and leather heated seats that are better than chairs. There are plenty of after market items to "pimp" this car though it doesn't need it. Cadillac just dropped the ball when they stopped making this master piece.
