Zoom zoom should be MINI's slogan. The MINI Cooper definitely is a little speedster. I had the chance to drive a manual transmission 2007 cross country. It did well. I had fun on the highways, I had fun in the cities.
Some downsides: small cupholders--they only fit can-sized beverages. Usually just change. Sitting in the backseat is a little painful, especially in the convertible model, because the side of the car bulges inward toward the seat. Doable, just not comfortable for extended periods like a roadtrip.
The seats are heated, so that is amazing in Minnesota winters. Wish the back seats were heated though, just the front two are. Good on gas, about 33 mpg on the highway and 29 in the city. It does take premium though.
Anyhow, it's a fun car.
