What I love: safety and performance. AWD, ABS, manual trans, great handling, very responsive and powerful. What I don't love: when the mfg tries to think for you. My cigarette lighter stays on when the car is off (so anything plugged in drains my battery) and my garage door opener goes off when the car is off (so I have to turn the car on to open my garage door in the morning. And what's with that beep that stuns me when the outside temp hits 37? Does water freeze at a different temp in Germany? And the doors - they bounce back on you if you don't open them to the right point. Ouch! Overall, I've gotten used to the quirks, and I love to drive it.

    Very good review. Never heard anyone talk about the BMW quirks.
