Everyone remembers the Rabbit, the cute name back in the 80's, and resurrected recently by Volkswagen. In reality, it is just a re-badged VW Golf from Europe but no matter, if you want the very best in German-engineered value, look no further.
First, while it's no VW GTI (one of my faves) it IS fun to drive and performs just fine, thank you. Acceleration is good via strong torque, handling is fine, and the Rabbit is quite roomy for a car its size. Quality is first-rate, in 6 months of ownership I have had no problems whatsoever, and the interior materials have a more sophisticated feel that its price would have you believe. Finally, there is good interior room for hauling "stuff", and the rear seats fold down to increase the hatch room even more.
So, I would say that if you want a lot of value and fun for your buck, the Volkswagen Rabbit is the way to go. Happy driving! --Rob, 2008 VW Rabbit owner
