My father owns an 05 F150. As his right hand, I drive the vehicle at least weekly.
The thing, quite plainly, is FUN. The 4.6 litre SOHC eight cylinder mills out power in generous proportions, easily launching the truck forward with a thunderous roar to sixty miles an hour in rougly six and a half seconds.
Comfortable? Yes. The machine has a strong, but not overly-stiff suspension, leading to a comfortable ride. Amenities? The works, I guess - power locks, power windows, cd, radio, AC (cold!). One thing that the machine does that I'm particularly impressed by is the fact that the music stops when a door opens, not right after the key is removed.
Convienient? Yes. Four doors means ample seating for four, squeeze for six. Truck bed's big enought to help me move out (which it did).
I have one complaint about the the F150. It's the hundred dollars you have to part with everytime you visit the gas pump.
That last part means I'd never buy one, but I'll certainly flog the old man's any chance I get.
