Amazing car.. despite its price

Dienstmann | Has owned a 2008 Land Rover LR3

I drive a Diesel LR3 in Brazil (where it costs about 2.5 times US price)... however, that's still a good deal and Land Rover is selling very well down here.

I think Land Rover has really exceeded expectations with the LR3 in all aspects, from design to small details such as the small electrical cooler or the Terrain Response system.

Fuel consumption is also a plus for this Diesel version. I can easily get to 13.5 Km/l on highways (that's about 35MPG). Despite having a V6 Diesel engine, noise levels are really low (It's difficult to believe it's a Diesel).

Some things you should consider before buying this car is:

- This is probably one of the safest cars one can buys, plenty of fool-proof systems and airbags

- It may be a difficult car to curb-park as visibility is not the strongest point

- Women usually find it ugly (just in case you're planning to impress them)

- Guys usually love it (just in case you're planning to impress them)

2.5 times the price is still a good deal? Wow... great review, btw!

@Dienstmann: 35 MPG? Wow! That is awesome. Good car / suv choice. Now if they can start making bio-diesel from that Brazilian sugar cane, you will have low operating expenses for a long time.
