The newest edition, which hit the streets in 2005, is a fully mature two-seat sports car that may be even more fun to drive than its more powerful stablemates. Changes for 2008 include optional leather sports bucket seat, improved nav system, revised paint choices, and matte black replacing volcano gray as the color for the climate control's air vents.

The 2008 Boxster is an amazing everyday sports car, available in two trims, the Convertible and the S. Comparable vehicles in the marketplace to the 2008 Boxster include the Audi A4, the Honda S2000, and the Volvo C70. The Convertible is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, H6, 217-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.
