After you get familiar with the start up of this car it is an absolute dream to drive. After you get in and hit the start button (yes that is really cool) you are ready to go. Even before the gasoline engine starts you can take off on the battery engine. On main roads, not including interstates, you can get up to 63 miles to the gallon. With the on board computer screen, it gives you up to the minute details of which motor is engaged, how many miles to the gallon you are getting and it controls the radio, air and heat. The read outs for the odometer, speedometer, gas read-out, oil, etc. are all on the screen at the very end of the dash.
When I first got in the Prius, I noticed no buttons, no control knobs, this is all on the touch computer screen. This is a wonderful car, I hated to have to return it to the rental company. If you want to try one out, I recommend renting one for the weekend, you will be surprised how much you DON'T use in gas.
