I bought a brand new 1999 Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 and have had it for the last seven years. It's a very comfortable car and the interior is very well done (except for the cup holders!).

However, I've had major reliability issues that have cost me quite a bit of money. I have since read many reviews, all of which state the Passat as long term reliability issues. Primarily because of reliability issues, I would not buy a Passat again.
