Reliable and very functional Honda Civic

Jane on March 15, 2008 | Has owned a 1999 Honda Civic

I have the Acura 1.6EL 1999, which is a Canadian rebranding of the Honda Civic sedan.

The Good...

It's been a wonderful cal, and I've driven it across the country with no problems what so ever. Overall maintenance on the car is almost non existent aside for the regular oil changes and scheduled checkups. It’s past its 100K mile marker and still going strong.

The Issues...

The most obvious one is that the leather in the front seats did not last very long. After about 3 years, the leather started cracking, and it exposed what looked more like vinyl than leather. I had to get myself a sheep skin seat cover which my friends make fun of me for.

I've also had the solenoid on the driver side break down but it was covered under my warranty and Honda fixed the problem at no cost to me. Finally, I had the rear bushings replaced after 85k miles.
