The Malibu is the perfect towncar, ideal for students and people with a lot of errands to run. Gas mileage is stellar, averaging over 25 miles to the gallon. An extremely smooth ride means that the Malibu is due for even less trips to the shop. Couple this with a sleek interior, leather seats, and a massive trunk, and this is the car for college students. The car also features a fold-down seat to allow for access to the trunk area. The Malibu is extremely practical, with easy to reach controls and lots of room inside. Most models have the stick on the floor, with automatic transmission. There are two separate levers on the steering column-- one for signals and cruise control, the other for wipers. The one drawback/problem that I had with the Malibu was that, at times, the key would not start the car. The key is a bit ambiguous as to how it fits into the ignition, and sometimes it refuses to turn. This just means you have to pull it out and try again. A minor inconvenience for a great value. Additionally, the car was able to be run without the keys after a bit of wear. After about 35,000 miles, I was able to take the keys out of the ignition without turning them and without stopping the car. Again, a minor convenience. Overall, the Chevy Malibu affords driver with a practical, efficient car.
