This car is the best I have ever owned on gas millage. My previous cars included a 2000 Sephia sedan and a hatchback '87 Tercel. I get over 40mpg every time, even in the winter. Certainly it's not the cheapest car I've ever owned, especially after purchasing the 100k mile warranty, which is NOT included, but so far has been very reliable and was a much better deal than the Civic. I could get a used Civic for the same price, yikes! I would also say that I made it through a snowy Maine winter with only the stock tires that came with it. It handles remarkably well in the snow. Though next winter I will be getting 'real' snow tires. Some things that I think Toyota could improve upon would be the 'cheapness' of some of the interior fixtures. The sun visors are not particularly well made, and the plastic on the inside of the car seems cheap. It is also not particularly comfortable for long distances, and I commute 120 miles a day. The seat leaves my back, just above my right leg, cramped at the end of long trips.
