GayWheels on March 6, 2008 | Has driven a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 2WD 4dr V6 XLT

All vehicles are not created to be equal. Each vehicle type - pickup, car, SUV, Crossover etc., has been designed with a specific person in mind. The idea is that if the product planners and designers are all thinking of the same “archetype” when creating a vehicle, the design will be consistent and the vehicle will attract that perfect customer as well as all the consumers that are like that customer.

When we drive cars here at Gaywheels.com, we do our best to consider who the target market is for a particular vehicle. It doesn’t come down to whether WE like the car, but rather, if the car meets the needs and the target customer in addition to comparing it to the competition. Of course, in our case, that target customer is gay and we do our best to write in the voice of our readers.

With that in mind, after driving the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, we thought it would be interesting to write the review in the voice of the vehicle. We thought "what if the Ford Explorer Sport Trac had to write a personals ad on Craigslist? What would it say?”.......

Versatile Truck with SUV Roots Looking for Someone Special

Strong silent type that enjoys it both mild and wild. Likes include everything from running errands to long road trips. Enjoy parties of 5 or less but equally at home with some one-on-one time with that special someone. Not as big as others but unless you NEED a fullsize, I can handle just about anything you throw my way.

Love music and can really get down if you order my Audiophile system with 6-disc changer and Sirius Satellite radio. While I am designed for a smooth ride, I can get into hairy situations off-road and have the equipment to handle it with my available 4WD and hearty frame. Have been told I am the perfect compromise between comfort and utility.

Hobbies include tailgating, camping, antiquing, home improvement, theatre and long walks on the beach (just kidding). My cargo box is designed to be versatile and when properly equipped, can expand to handle larger items. I even have built-in compartments to keep items handy but out of site. I’ve been told I am ruggedly handsome and after my recent facelift, I look younger.

Stats: V6 or V8 power, available 4WD, independent rear suspension for smooth ride, seating for 5, versatile cargo box, proven technology and a history of dependability. Lots of options available to make me unique. Starting at $25,845.

If you are interested, drop me a line and we can go for a test-drive. I am really looking for a LTR but am open to other possibilities.
