I have wanted to like this car since we bought it, but I can't. This has been the highest-maintenance car I have ever owned. At about 80,000 miles, the dealership wanted $5700 to replace the transmission. That's when we started going to an independent service shop - they fixed the problem for $600. But it has problems that no car should have. I is in the shop for a major service ($1000) about every 3-4 months. Stay away from the XC70!

I have the same car now with 180K. Luckily we got the 6 year 100K mile warranty. If we did not have this plan the service on the car, replaced fuel pump in tank, mas meter x 2, throttle x 2, injection repairs, radiator, H2O pump front axle repair, CV joints, and I don;t remember some of the other stuff, probably over 10k in repairs.

Add another vehicle to compare side-by-side
