2004 Volkswagen Passat

We bought this as a future learners car for my son - we figured it would have 60K miles by the time he got it and that it would be ready for the dustbin by then anyway. Heck, we have 50K miles on it already and have had $0 in repairs (normal expensive VW maintenance only). I'm thinking it might be too good for him!

Our initial impression is that it was 80% as much fun as our 3-series at 1/3 the price. I'm still there, really. With the sunroof back and the upgraded-by-the-factory stereo blasting on a nice day, well, good fun for $20K. Plus we get 20+mpg in mostly city driving. We'd probably get more but I have a lead foot.
