I love Nissans and I'm looking at buying a new Extera, wanna save money on fuel, though.

    My Xterra averages 22-24 MPG on the highway. I observe the speed limit, accelerate smoothly, and brake as little as possible. If you want better mileage, a Nissan, and can sacrifice some of the towing capabilities, consider the Rouge, or the Murano. Around here the Rouge can be had for about the same as an Xterra, drives great on the highway, and gets closer to 30 MPG in my experience (only a couple test drives). I drive about 20,000 a year, so I am contemplating taking a huge hit to trade in my Xterra on the Rouge or even an Altima to improve the mileage.

    15-16 mpg avg even wiht highway mixing in.....pretty bad
