I wish to buy one for my girlfriend but more than half the year is snowy. I live in Canada and winters can get very slippery. I also heard that mercedes is not the best to drive in wet conditions as its grip to the floor is not as good as ie. BMWs. My girlfriend and I both love the shape of the new CL but should we buy it?

you'll be safe. Also, depends on the kind of roads you are driving on. If they are going to be plowed, usually easy access I'd feel fine with this car, but if you are going to be doing more mountain driving, I'd rethink it..

I only vote no because while I think this is a very *safe* vehicle in general, mixing a $100k+ car with wintry conditions doesn't seem like the best idea...
