I'm thinking of buying one of them and while I'm drawn to the classic lines of the Beetle, I want to be sure to make my gas money last.

    It depends on what model you get (manual vs. automatic of both). They are pretty close in gas mileage but I wouldn't look to save a ton on gas moving from a gold to a vw.
