Would you buy an S-Type rather than wait for the XF to come out? I've heard the the S isn't that reliable, and maybe jaguar will fix the probs with the new model. Should I go for the S?

The S-type is also known as a Lincoln LS. The jaguar version has a 4.0l V-8 DOHC engine, and is "peppy." When it breaks, and it often will, expect $1,000 in parts and around $500 in labor fees to fix it. That covers most problems, from rough-running caused by water or bad coil packs, to bad ABS/Traction modules, to fuel pump control modules. Every operable item on this car has its own computer. They like to break, and are very pricey to replace. I've been a technician for 6 years, and these cars never surprise me in their shoddy engineering.

If you purchase and S-Type, only purchase the R badge. All others are worthless. XF looks like every other sedan on the road. They missed with the styling.
