Would you still buy an H3?
Flag
From openroad on June 11, 2008
This poll is for people who would have considered a hummer before the announcement that it will likely be sold and possibly discontinued. Leaving aside the gas mileage (although the H3 gets considerably better mileage) would you buy a car that is going to be discontinued? I'd love to hear what people think.

Most models of cars are discontinued after 5 -10 years anyway. Parts and service is still widely available for those vehicles. How many Oldsmobiles do you still see around? The H3 was my dream car and the news of it possibly being discontinued had no effect on me fufilling my dream.

I bought H1s after they quit making them and I have restored lots of cars they no longer make. If they quit making them it won't be an issue for me as far as owning or buying one. No decision has been made yet.

I'm in the process right now of trying to buy one. IF HUMMER were to be sold and quality was to suffer it wouldn't be for a while if at all - thus leaving the current HUMMER vehicles in good shape.

I will always drive some type of vehicle with "real" 4 wheel drive...I want a vehicle that is on a full frame - NOT a unibody. Gas mileage doesn't impact my purchase.

definitely would love to buy another H3 (american-owned/made) right before the potential sale happens. then, throw it in storage for 10 years, so id have a brand new one once mine gets old and used purely for off-roading.

Hummer may go away, but GM isn't going anywhere. Oldsmobile owners had no trouble getting warranty coverage, parts or service after GM killed that brand.

Yes Id rather drive a H3 vs. driving a Yarus that will be a coffin buring me in the ground! If gas is $10 bucks a gallon I'll still drive. I will have to tip less at the strip bars and cut back on the lap dances.
Aloha

I earned my h3. I served 12 years in the usn. I'm out now and love my made in the usa hummer. I feel great driving it. My wife loves it. Churns me and my family through the snow safely while the little one watches tv in the backseat. It will be a sad day to see them go. I live in New Hampshire where most roads have nasty frost heaves everywhere. Has 5 cylinders 18-19 mpg. and plenty of power on and off the road. Anyone who disrespects this capable vehicle either does not own one or just plain, "does'nt know"!
