I just purchased this car, a used model, and I wanted to know how safe it is since I will be driving it with my newborn son.

    I've been driving mine for 9 years now.. Raised one kid to age 11 driving it and now my year old son. I'd say they are pretty safe in the back seat as long as you drive responsibly and watch for other drivers(as with any vehicle). I was in one accident with it and the only reason I I was hurt was because I saw the hit coming and tensed up. Ended up with whiplash. I've had no engine problems and no serious breakdowns, in fact it's been one awesome little car and has over 122,000 miles on it now driving from Homer to Fairbanks several times in our possession.
