  I don't know, I heard a 17 year old in Vancouver ask for an Evo, knowing he wouldn't get it. His second choice was the S40 Turbo.

  i do not think this a safe car volvos have had repeated transmission problems. very hard shifting and very expensive repairs at only 50000 miles

  Volvo pioneered "Safety" as the 2 who staredt it all in 1927 stated their cars were for safety, long before any other manufacturer said anyhting about safety. Most manufacturers have copied Volvos safety firsts, so alot of cars on the market share in that safety aspect, but Volvo outruns them all with real life testing and learning from crash scene data, not to mention their state of art testing facility in Sweden. And over there they contend with over 1,000 pound moose & elk in the roads!
