    Both the 128i and 135i are 6-cylinder engines. The 128i has a 3.0L Inline-6 making 230hp.

last time BMW made a 4-cylinder was the very early years of the Z3,.. 128i has a naturally-aspirated straight 6-cylinder which is a 3.0 litre good for 230 horsepower and 200 ft-lbs of torque. the 135i is, for all intensive purposses the same engine, with slightly different stroke and bore, using twin-turbo chargers, (one small for low-end rpms, the other bigger for higher rpms), making 300 break-horsepower, and 300 feet-pounds of torque.
