how do you disable the car alarm?

I'll tell you this, what you are proposing is not an easy task. It's better left to a professional. See, if an aftermarket alarm is installed, they interrupt quite a few of the cars circuits to install the alarm. You need to find all of these circuits, remote the alarm wiring and correctly reconnect the factory wires. The better the alarm installer, the harder the job is because he has found wires in harder to reach places to tap into (thus making it harder for a thief to take your car). If it's a factory alarm, the best bet is to take it to the dealership or a independent shop that specializes in electrical work.
