Fix for drooping door trim on 3 series coupes?

I just had to deal with a friend's 328Ci, which had the gray door trim start falling off. Apparently, in 2000, BMW used a design that glues two very slick pieces of plastic together, which can't handle much heat over the years.
Some people had the trim fall off after just a couple of years. My friend keeps her car garaged most of the time, so it's been 9 years for her.
BMW knows it's a problem, but won't do anything for the customers if they are out of warranty. The fix at the dealer is in the $400 range.
The DIY fix involves Liquid Nails Perfect Glue #1 (now called Liquid Nails Home Project Repair LN201) and masking tape or lots of props to hold the trim piece in place for several hours.

Do you man some exterior piece, or interior trim?

Interior trim. There's a rubber seal that I had to deal with a couple of years ago, then the gray "mouse fur" interior piece between it and the headliner.

Ah, for the rubber seal try weatherstrip adhesive. It's works real well but I'll warn you, it's stringy and sticky as he!! so don't get it anywhere you don't want it. For the mouse fur, I heard that you can buy some spray-on mouse fur that is supposed to work well. Sounds like that spray paint for my bald spot though.....
