can you tell me how much oil to put in my toyota when i changed the oil its a v6 and im not sure if i should put 5.5 or 6 quarts

    What year, what engine? When I'm not sure of the capacity, I'll start at 4.5 quarts for a V-6, start the engine and let it idle for 30 seconds. Then shut it off and let it sit for 30 seconds and pull the dipstick. Then I'll add oil from that point. Just to help you gauge how much to add, the area between "add" and "full" or "safe" and "full" is typically 1 quart.
