ON the highway, the best is the slowest you can go. If you stand 45 mph, you'd get the best mileage possible, but you might get shot as well. In my wifes minivan I noticed if I set the cruise from 70 down to 65 I got 2.5 mpg better! Drop another 5 mph and I gained another 2 or so.
