I am looking for a car where I can carry passengers and outdoor sporting gear to enjoy the outdoors without setting forth a major carbon footprint.

I think the Toyota offers the most flexibility... the Yukon is too expensive and the Ford is only FWD (at least in this comparison)...

the '07 Highlander and '09 Escape already look out of date. At least the '08 Yukon looks fresh...though the fuel economy isn't great....but what can you expect from a full size SUV.

Absolutely the best fuel economy we've ever had with any of our SUVs - very happy!

I'm regularly getting way beyond EPA ratings. 40mpg is not unheard of. Nice space, compact size, great mileage.
