I have the 4 cyl '08 XE and it is by far the best car I have owned! I would look close at the '09 Aura. It now has the 6 speed auto on all trim levels and 33mpg highway!

I currently drive a 2007 Aura XE and I love the car! I average a little over 22 mpg in combination city and highway driving. On 2+ hour road trips I average close to 29 mpg. I find the gas mileage more than acceptable for an automobile with a 3.5 liter V6 and a four speed automatic. If you are a parent of a child who still requires a car seat, the back seat provides plenty of room for a car seat.
I have yet to drive the new Chevrolet Malibu, but it looks like a great car as well. I cannot decide if I like the exterior styling of the Malibu over the Aura. The interior of the Malibu I like a little better. GM has made some improvements in that area since the introduction of the Aura. I have driven the current generation Pontiac Grand Prix, albeit it was not a 2008 model and I thought it was an okay car. I prefer the stiffer ride of the Aura over the Grand Prix. I much prefer the European-influenced styling of the Aura and the Malibu over the Grand Prix. The Grand Prix is also built on a platform that is over 20-years old.
All and all, my choice is the Aura over all three.

An awesome and underrated car. While the Malibu may have a tad better looks. A tad!! You just don't see as many Auras and to me that's a great selling point. PLUS Saturn is just a better arm of GM. The Aura also has a certain Euro feel. The Mali doesn't. I understand, though, about the Mali. It IS pretty sweet looking. I got my Aura loaded. You should, too.

I own a Saturn Aura and enjoy it, but from what I've heard the Chevy has nicer interior and has some of the kinks worked out. That said I personally haven't had any problems with mine. As far as the Grand Prix I believe it's mostly the same as the one that came out in the mid 90's that just had a makeover.

i have a 99 grand prix gt and i love it, but i am a big honda fan i had about 4 of them so far, but the new era of honda has gone down from its original destinition [japan]. so yea if your gonna get a saturn acura your well better of with the pontiac grand prix plus its the best choice for domestic cars..
